Book Character Parade Day

On Friday 27th November we celebrated Book Character Day.

We got to dress up in our favourite book character costume and we paraded around in-front of the whole school.

We had such a fun day!

H for Hamburger

Here I am eating a hamburger.

It was delicious.

I know 'h is for hamburger.

S for Slime

We have been exploring words that start with 's'.

The slime was gooey, slippery, slimey, soft,  smooth and sticky.

Here I am playing with "s for slime."

It was fun.

J for Jelly

Last week we were learning about the letter "Jj".  

We brainstormed all the words we knew that started j.   

When someone said "j for jelly" we asked Mrs Koroa if we could make some and she said "Yes."  

We made jelly in our favourite colours.

Purerehua Art

Here is our 'Purerehua - Butterfly Art'.

We were learning how to use the mouse pad on the computer.  

We used KixPix to create the background patterns.

We then used vivid and dye to create our butterfly patterns.

Mrs Koroa helped us fold the wings and attach the antennae.

Soccer Skills Session

On Friday the 6th of November Room 5 participated in a soccer skills workshop.  We went down to the back field and played some games that helped us control the ball using just our feet.  It was really hard trying to stay inside the cones as our balls kept escaping!!!  We had a great time.

My First Reader

Here is the first reader that I read with Mrs Koroa.

I am learning to read sentences beginning with 'I am ...'

"I am a good reader.  I like reading my books."

Welcome to my Year 0 learning blog. This term I am in room 5 and my teacher is Mrs Koroa.
